Parkway's Sunday school begins at
9:10 am. There are classes for children & youth and
adults. There are also several
programs during the week, both morning and evening.
If you'd like to participate in
any of these classes, please register so we can be
sure to order materials for you.
Nursery
Up to age 3, following the Children's Sermon until 11:30 am

Our nursery is available for parents who may need it during the worship service.
Multi-Age Class
Pre-K through 5th grade, room 13 off the patio

Utilizing the Presbyterian Church (USA)
belief-based curriculum We
Believe, we will learn about faith and what having it means. Following
God is having faith. In the Fall we will explore how God's people follow God's
directions and how their lives reflect their faith in God. God's plans are
sometimes surprising. Noah and Joseph and his family relationships will help us
see what unexpected plans God has for us.
Children's Church
Ages 3 through 6th grade
10:40 am - 11:30 am, room 12 (instruction) & 15/16 (music)
Led by Kate Arthurs & Helen Myers
The Children's Church program follows the Children's Sermon in our worship
service. This program is designed to teach participants the elements of
corporate worship such as prayer, hymns, scripture interpretation, concerns
of the congregation, the Christian greeting, and fellowship. Volunteers are
needed for the instruction part of the program. Contact

Junior and Senior High Youth Group
6th through 12th grade, 5 pm (dinner provided)
Parkway's young people gather each Sunday evening at 5 pm for dinner,
fellowship, preparation for retreats and conferences, as well as learning
more about being called to lead others while learning about God's plan for
our lives. We will gather with other New Orleans area youth as well for
special events. Our youth will be involved in mission opportunities in our
community. This group is open to all youth and they are encouraged
to invite their friends and neighbors.
Presbyterian 101
Room 9
Led by the Rev. Rebecca Harrison
Join us as we renew or enhance our knowledge of what it means to be a
reformed people. The Rev. Harrison will rely on the
Book of Order
and the Book of
Confessions as primary resources, along with other Presbyterian Church
(USA) publications, going from the Great Ends of the Church to the
Book of Common Worship and everything (well, almost everything) in
between.
Reading the Bible Again for the First Time
Library
Led by Frances Bordelon
Are you searching for a contemporary, enlightened way to understand the Bible?
Join this group exploring the book Reading the Bible Again for the First Time by Marcus J. Borg. He takes
the Bible seriously but not literally. The chapters are titled Reading the
Creation Story, Pentateuch, The Prophets, Israel's Wisdom,
The Gospels, Paul and Revelation. This should be an
opportunity to clean the darkened lens through which you have seen the Bible.
A resource fee of $15 may be made payable to Parkway with the notation
Bordelon class.

Join us as we share concerns, acknowledge answered prayers and grow in our
relationship as the family of Parkway. Whether you are a Pre-School parent or
grandparent, we invite you to join us as we experience a deeper understanding
of God's faithfulness as a community.
Lectionary Study
Monday evenings at 7 pm, room 9
Led by the Rev. Rebecca Harrison
Join this group each week, or as often as you are able, for a lively
discussion and in-depth study of the lectionary passages for the following
Sunday's worship. You never know, you just may inform the direction of the
sermon!
Embracing the Journey: the Way of Christ
Private homes, 1st & 3rd Thursdays at 7:30 pm
Led by Jan Faust
Embracing
the Journey, by Rueben P. Job and Marjorie J. Thompson, offers a small group
experience in spiritual formation. It is intended to deepen our experience of God,
explore the fullness of life in Christ through spiritual practices, and receive
guidance of the Spirit in community. This book is the first of five in the
Companions of Christ series. Each book lasts about five sessions.
Participants may enroll for only the first one or continue for the year.
