Kick Off Sunday

Breakfast of Champions - Wear Your Team Gear!
Sunday - September 12 at 9:00 am

Come early at 9:00 a.m. for a Continental Breakfast. Pass through the kitchen on Sunday, September 12, on your way to class to pick up a light breakfast provided by the Teaching Ministry. As a part of our traditional 10:30 a.m. worship, we will be commissioning our teachers for the coming year. Our volunteer and staff educators of our church and preschool will take part in our annual commissioning service. The service will focus on the many events and ministries we will engage in in the coming season. Following worship the Youth Group will be hosting a luncheon to welcome Chris Burton, our new music director. Stay and support our youth group while enjoying a fried chicken and jambalaya lunch with dessert for $5.00 per person. Let’s make a day of it at Parkway as we embark on a great year!

Pastor’s Reading Group

First Monday of each month

This group gathers the first Monday of the month at noon in the Parkway Library for lunch and to discuss the current resource. Bring a bag lunch and enjoy some interesting discussion. In September, the resource is The Blessing by Dr. Gary Smalley with a theme of God at work in different family systems. During October the group will read The Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning, and the theme is Good News for the bedraggled, burntout, and beat up.

Son Rise Service

Sundays - 8:30 am

Looking for some quiet time with God? Our Son Rise service may be for you. It’s a 30 minute service held every Sunday in our sanctuary. The service is centered around prayer, scripture, song and meditation. We also share communion at the Lord’s table each Sunday. All are welcome, so please join us.

Mission Needs

Parkway members support numerous mission projects. Current mission needs include:

Donations of toiletries, socks, and underwear for the homeless - in support of First Presbyterian Church mission

Donations of non-perishable food items - in support of the Jefferson Presbyterian Food Bank

Time donation of two hours per month - in support of Second Harvest

Donations can be left in the Parkway Fellowship Hall. For further information, contact the church office at 733-1644.

Weekly Prayer Group

Wednesdays at 10:30 am

Our Prayer Group is open to all who desire to engage in prayer for individuals, our community, our state, our nation, and our world. We meet in the library each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., except on the last Wednesday of the month when we meet in the sanctuary for a prayer service. All prayers offered in worship, submitted to the office, and presented through our members are uplifted and shared with those who gather.
