Volunteer Housing at Parkway

Did you know that Parkway houses mission groups who come to the city to help rebuild our community?  This summer, in addition to our regular church and school groups, Parkway is housing two 10-member teams of AmeriCorps volunteers working for Habitat for Humanity.  The need for housing these volunteers developed when Habitat shut down Camp Hope, the housing operation it ran in St. Bernard Parish.  These two groups will be staying at Parkway between June 4th and July 11th.

Son Rise Service

Sundays - 8:30 am

Looking for some quiet time with God?  Our Son Rise service may be for you.  It’s a 30 minute service held every Sunday in our sanctuary.  The service is centered around prayer, scripture, song and meditation.  We also share communion at the Lord’s table each Sunday.  All are welcome, so please join us.

Presbyterian 101 (not just for newcomers)

Sunday Mornings at 9:10 am in the Sanctuary

Pastor Tom will lead discussions each week about why Presbyterians believe what we do and how we put that faith into practice. In June, the discussion will include Presbyterian origins, theology and development.  In July we will talk about Presbyterian beliefs today.  In August we’ll focus on Presbyterian worship - why do we worship the way we do?  What is always in our worship and what can flex?  Each class will be on a single “stand alone” topic, so you can join in at any time.  All visitors, friends and members of Parkway are welcome to come and explore “What it means to be a Presbyterian”.
